Meal logging guide for Google Health

Use a menu or receipt to prepare a reviewed Google Health meal entry

A menu can describe a dish and a receipt can identify what was ordered. Neither proves what was served, how it was prepared, or how much was consumed.

Context is still required

Tell MealSync which item was yours, what changed, and how much you ate. Add a meal photo when it clarifies the actual portion.

  • Select the relevant item—not the entire menu.
  • Separate ordered items from consumed items.
  • Mention substitutions, shared dishes, and leftovers.
  • Review assumptions about portions and preparation.

Why this can beat a database search

A menu or receipt preserves the name and composition of a specific order. That can be more useful than scrolling through unrelated branded matches, especially when the meal is local, customized, or not packaged.

Source handling

MealSync uses the menu or receipt to create the estimate. It does not upload that source document to Google Health.

The data boundary

MealSync sends the reviewed nutrition record—not your source photo, receipt, menu, label, or voice content—to Google Health.
